RULES FOR THE SITE WIDE THREAD!!
Just because this is in the Freedom Fighter caves does not make this any less site-wide! Anyone can join in!--if you want to jump in, but don't know how-- just ask! I bet I can come up with anything for anyone!
Here's how this is gonna' work. The thread will be started by myself, with the major event(s) a happenin'. You are welcome to reply straight into role-play if you have a good reason to be there. However, this is also a good opportunity to make use of ALL your characters by posting a reaction for each. Here's how to do it...
Create a post starting with the following, 'From _(name of place)__, _(your character's name)__ looked up...' Or something like that. Then, you can post their reaction to the sound, smell, sights, thoughts-- whatever your character felt at the moment they noticed the event. Then, on one of the words in the post, create a link using the coding to an open thread with the same paragraph. This way, you can have all your character's reacting to the event without cluttering up the site-wide thread.
Of course, not all of us have multiple characters-- in which you can either to the above, or simply post in the accumulating site wide thread.
ONE NOTE: If you decide to merely post here without link, please don't single off your interaction to one specific character. Branch out to everyone at the scene, or take you and your newfound RP partner to a new thread so it doesn't get confusing for everyone else. All four of us. xP
Does everyone get it? You know how it works? If not, send a note in the c-box or by PM. Make it easy on the rest of us. IF YOU DO GET IT-- BEGIN!!!! (and have fun!)
A side note to Harley: Since you are the winner of the contest, you hold to right to turn down my interpretation of your choice. If you don't like the way I've set it up, and had something more violent/less violent in mind-- just say so. ^^ You are the boss here.
WITH THAT SAID-- let's begin!
There was a dark shape that walked through the night-- the moonlight catching off of the form and silhouetting the individual, shaggy, furs that laid across it's back. It looked unnatural in the grassy-plains, such a large figure hobbling through thigh-high grasses that whipped and waved around it in fluent waves.
It was a large grizzly bear.
The most fearsome animal on land. It could sprawl any human onto their back with a swing of it's mighty paws. It could break a spine with a single snap of it's teeth and level trees with a press of it's massive, muscles hoarded side.
And this particular bear, looking so out-of-place yet-so-fearsome, was no animal. It was a very weak, very desperate mutant. It knew that there were about twenty sniper crosiers falling on it's back. It knew that not all of them where tranqs-- and it knew that it simply could not fail.
So Emily Brenson stood up on her hind legs, grunting in the sound of the bear as all her pressure was places on her already wounded legs. Inhaling deeply, desperately, the girl-- not even fifteen-- felt a surge of panic as she sensed not a breath of the scent on the winds. Grizzlies where supposed to have the greatest sense of smell on land, if she couldn't pick it up--
Suddenly, the breeze bent to-wards her, and Emily plopped down onto all four paws in a weak, shaky, guilty, relief. There. She could smell them now that the wind had returned. Over forty different people, young too, by the scent, all not too far away in a set of caves ahead.
Have you got a trail?
Emily jumped, not yet used to having a voice in her head barking orders. Not to mention that this voice belonged to a man in charge of a genocide mission. Slowly, letting the breeze ruffle her brown coarse fur a little, the girl gave a slow, lumbering nod-- knowing that the snipers would see and report.
She hoped those people would understand. The shapeshifter couldn't say she had a choice--there was always a choice-- but it wasn't an easy one. Sacrifice thirty mutant's position? Or watch as one-by-one, her friends and allies, all trapped within that hell-hole MCA building, were tortured and killed.
Good. Thank you for your service, 184029. You will be returned to the base now.
A small prick in her side.
But Emily had prepared for this. She was escaping. No way were they going to put her back. She slowly turned around, growling, as several more pricks entered her side, the girl turned her head and with her bear poor-sighted eyes, yanked about five needles out of her thick skin with her teeth. One. Two. Three.
Another two came.
Four. Five. Six.
One more.
Seven. Eight.
Another fwteet was picked up in her sensitive ears of the hunter, but the girl was already moving forward-- lumbering much faster than anyone would expect out of such a large beast. Eventually she was up to forty miles per hour, sprinting straight toward the city-- where she could get human and find help fast. Somewhere the MCA would be unlikely to break their cover.
She was surprised when no more tranqs, or bullets, followed her-- but she didn't head what was said afterward by the leading commando.
"Save the tanqs. Don't bother. She's just one mute, after all, and we have a bigger prize ahead of us. We'll get her back after we have control of the twenty mutes ahead of us. None of your business what we're working on, don't bother asking about what I mean by control. Just start the bloody attack-- hear? I don't want a single mutant misplaced."
"Yes, sir."
"Then begin."
