BASICS
Name:
-First: Darryl
-Middle: James
-Last: Markswell
Nickname(s): None
Name Background: Darryl-- fraternal grandfather. James-- maternal grandfather.
Age: Fifty
Gender: Male
Play-By: John Stamos
Appearance
Height: Five-foot-eight
Weight: One hundred fifty-five pounds
Build: Average
Hair Color: Brown
-Hair Style: Short, slightly messy
Skin: Caucasian
General Appearance: Neither tall nor short, neither muscular nor not muscular, neither skinny nor fat, Markswell’s just painfully average-looking. Granted, he looks younger than his fifty years (except for the wrinkles on his forehead and around his eyes), but that’s beside the point. His brown hair is short and messy (some days it looks like he doesn’t know what a comb is), and he has a perpetual five o’clock shadow.
For clothing, he’s partial to suits, though he hardly ever wears a tie, or even a collared shirt. No, it’s slacks, a dark-colored t-shirt, a sport coat, and leather shoes (no laces-- elastic).

General Personality: Darryl Markswell is the kind of person who always tries to have an answer for any question, no matter how obscure. He seems to be incredibly proper at first glance, but that’s how a headmaster should act.
He cares a lot about his students. He tries to look in on each dorm at least once a month, but he has a lot of work, so sometimes he forgets. When he gathers the new students, he tries to make sure that the parents of the mutants fully understand what their child is going through and how he can help them. If a parent is not ready to leave his or her child in the hands of a stranger, he respects that, and hands the parent his phone number, tells his or her to call when and if they ever feel ready.
Quirks/Mannerisms: Here
Fear(s): The MCA winning
Goal(s) in Life: Teach mutants how to use their powers, gain mutant equality
History
Family
-Mother: Elizabeth May Markswell
-Father: Stephen Edward Markswell
-Sibling(s): None
-Other Important Family Members: None
-Pet(s): None
General History: Born in London, Markswell quickly learned that he was not like other people. “Normal” children can’t reach into someone else’s mind and know what they’re thinking. He learned to hide his ability, and, by age fifteen, had almost mastered his telepathy. It confused him for many years, and, when he was seventeen, vowed to help other mutants learn about their powers.
After he graduated high school, he spent about a year traveling around searching for mutants. He spent a month training each child, but he knew there had to be an easier way. So, at nineteen years old, Markswell enrolled in college to become a professor.
He took a job at a local school to learn about how a school works from an administrative point of view-- his parents already had all the money he needed to make his own school-- and at twenty-seven he started construction of the Academy.
The school opened when Markswell was thirty. At first, parents were hesitant about sending their kids off to some unknown school run by a relatively inexperienced man, and became even more hesitant when they learned that it was to learn how to use superpowers.
Eventually, the school filled up, and, when he was thiry-five, he met Rick Freedom. Intrigued, he took in the seven-year-old mutant. (Mostly because the boy’s story plucked his heartstrings-- abandoned by parents at age six, lived on his own as a street performer for a year.) Rick became like a son to him (Markswell never married, so he never had children.) and, like all fathers and sons, they had their fair share of arguments. When Rick graduated, he left the Academy. Markswell hasn’t heard from him since.
It is not the Academy’s twentieth year open.
Power: Telepathy
-General Description: In a three-mile radius, Markswell can hear everybody’s thoughts. Not that he wants to all the time, of course! He only hears the thoughts that he wants to hear. He just concentrates on a person and BOOM! Mind, read.
-Strengths of Power(s) He can’t be lied to.
-Weaknesses of Power(s) His power can be blocked by range.
