Do you think your character deserves to have two powers? How about three? How would you like to create a huge natural phenomenon that shakes the entire site to its roots? Well, then check out this contest!
General Gist: So, Daze’s contest is one that involves writing—and by the way you are on a role-playing site, I’m assuming you enjoy that. So, the general gist—this is a writing contest.
Topic: Take one of your characters and change an event in their past. It can be as simple as you changing what cereal your charrie ate one day—or a moment where your character happened to stoop down and avoid a killing bullet. You can write about any event, as long as it changes your character’s life in some way that would be interesting to read about.
Running Date of the Contest: From August 19th, 2011—through August 26th, 2011 at Midnight.
How many entries can you submit?: One per character you posses. If you are submitting via an account that does not possess a character at the moment/yet (such as a new member, or an admin account)—you may either…
a.) Make up a character that holds a tie to Mutants Galore
b.) Use a character you have played as an OCC on Mutants Galore. (Such as your character’s mother, or a bounty-hunter a character once encountered)
How is the winner decided? I’ll decide first, second, and third place so we won’t have to wait on people to vote in a poll. When the site becomes more popular with greater members, we will return to poll-voting.
Prizes? Of course!! Prizes come as followed…
-1st Place: The Ability to create a natural Phenomenon that will affect the entire site. (1 time only. If you don’t want this, you may substitute it for the ability for two characters of your choice to be able to posses two powers.) If you wish for more information on this prize, PM Daze (username: admin).
-2nd Place: The character you used to win will be able to gain two more powers ontop of the one they already have. (If your character does not posses a power, and you do not want one—you can substitute it for the prize above)
-3rd Place: The character you used to win the contest will be able to gain one additional power ontop of the one they already have. (If your character does not posses a power, and you do not want one—you can substitute it for a smaller version of the 1st place prize.)
Where do I submit? Please submit in a reply below. If your story is longer than the 60,000-character length (WOW)—please label accordingly and make sure that the posts are back-to-back.
Any other rules you need to know about?
-If you use another person’s character, you must note that you have their permission at the end of the story
-The story can be from five words, to a novel. I personally don’t care, and I’m a heavy reader—so anything goes
-If you wish to use a previously type up piece (of your ownership), you may.
-Please leave a word count, as well as any due credit at the bottom of the piece.
